A.k.a. Euterpe
Spanish band from Palma de Mallorca. Euterpe came together as a group at the Guitar Centre in Palma de Mallorca. This cosmopolitan venue was the most popular place on the island for live acoustic music in the 1970’s. Euterpe's sound was what we'd now call ‘unplugged’, with acoustic instruments and vocal harmonies. Their music was influenced mostly by British and American bands of the time. Their repertoire ranged from settings of folk-rock or country-swing to traditional music. At the beginning of 1974 , Majorcan producer Toni Parera Fons offered them a recording contract with the label Hispavox for an album of popular Spanish folk songs selected from the Cancionero Popular Español (Anthology of Popular Spanish Folksong) and adapted to Euterpe's contemporary musical style. The result was the album "Paisaje, Camino y Canción". In 1976 they recorded with David Allen "Good Morning" edited by Virgin Records.
