Violin player. Born in Riga, Latvia to a family of musicians. Studied with V. Sturesteps at the Special School of Music of Latvia and later at the Special Central School of Music in Moscow with Felix Andrievsky and Yuri Yankelevitch. Continued her musical preparation at the Tchaikowsky Conservatory in Moscow with Professor Yuri Yankelevitch. Moved to London and continued her studies with Szymon Goldberg and Sigmund Niesel (from the "Amadeus Quartet"). Eva Graubin develops into an active soloist playing concertos with orchestras such as the Welsh BBC Orchestra, Paris Radio Orchestra, Belgium Philharmonic Orchestra, Stockholm Sinfonietta, Berlin Philharmonic Virtuosos, etc. She participated in numerous music festivals all over the world like the Festival de Menton (France), the festival of Dubrovnik, Midem in Cannes and the Festival of Music of Newport, USA. After the Independence of Latvia she has represented her country on several occasions accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of Latvia. The recordings of Robert Schumann's two sonatas with Romanian pianist Théodore Paraskivesco that she made under the CBS Records "Masterworks" series is acclaimed by international critics. Eva Graubin also teaches. In the U.K. at the "Cheathams Music School" in Manchester and periodically at the "Yehudi Menuhin School" in Cobham. Since 1986, Eva Graubin has been a guest lecturer at the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona and is currently a professor at the Catalan School of Music. She also gave master classes at the University of Chile and the Yehudi Menuhin Academy in Gstaad (Switzerland) among others. She has been a member of the jury in several national and international competitions such as Pablo Sarasate in Pamplona, Viña del Mar (Chile) and Andria (Italy).
