Album 1986 on Panton label
Pop (Chanson)
Eva Novotná embarked on an amateur singing career during her university days at the pedagogical faculty, which she followed up with specialization in defectology. She went on to study for four years at the Conservatory for Pop Music and Jazz, concentrating on chanson singing. She finished her studying in 1979 and the next year she started singing as a backing vocalist. In 1982 she started her solo career. She also performed at the Lucerna Hall, "Prague's Olympia", and was selected from dozens of other singers for performing in the film "Humour Salesman" about the backstage of entertainment music. Eva Novotná has been featured in TV entertainment shows, and has been reaping success alongside prominent recitators and actors at the Viola poetry stage, where she has had several seasons of chansons on lyrics by famous 19th and 20th/century French poets. Some of them are presented on this record, along with evergreens from the repertoire of Edith Piaf, Jaques Brel, Gilbert Becaud and others.
