Evangeline Sutherland (formerly Eva Gnostiquette) is a musician from Connecticut who primarily works with the neofolk, post-punk, and post-industrial genres. She is a nonbinary trans woman and is openly bisexual. She is an Oriental Orthodox Christian and self-described mystic. She has described herself as a libertarian communist. Her lyrical and musical themes are frequently inspired by her faith and politics as well as the philosophy of thinkers ranging from William Blake to Baruch Spinoza and her own Celtic and Jewish heritage and personal trauma. She releases all her work under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence. She released her first single, Convention of Corruption, a post-punk song, in August 2016 in protest of alleged collusion at the Democratic National Convention. She released her second single, Difference + Repetition, comprised of two experimental electronic tracks based on the ideas of Gilles Deleuze, in October 2017. She released the promotional single Bloody Roses on 16 November 2017 and will release an album entitled The Idols Have Been Cast Down and Rent on 30 April 2017.
