The group consists of Henning, Jaystar, Jeejaa and City Lights, four producers who have all made their mark on the Dutch Hip-Hop scene over the past few years. Beatmaker Henning (1987) released his instrumental EP “Dejima” and has worked with Dutch rappers Sticks and Akwasi. Jeejaa (1984) provided the Dutch Hip-Hop group Front Porch Poets, among others, with his warm and soulful sound. Producer Jaystar (1983) released several well-received beattapes, such as “Dust: Instrumentals & Loops Volume 1” in 2008 and “Silverscream Instrumentals” in 2011. The youngest member of Evil Genius Soundsystem, City Lights (1992), released his album “Winter All Year” in the summer of 2011. The four have known each other for years, and share a mutual respect for each other’s music. Therefore, it wasn’t farfetched that the four would join forces to release their first collective album “Volume 1” in 2012, under the moniker of Evil Genius Soundsystem. In 2013 they strike again with their second album “Volume 2”.
