Ewig Finster is a two piece band from Germany and this is their second demo . It consists of 5 songs with a total of 40 min. The sound quality is that of a demo, yes, that is probably the only reason for this to be called a demo ! All the rest has the makings of a full length ! As soon as you press play a journey of coldness and pain starts, ruthless and unforgiving feelings that have the ability of transforming the atmosphere that surrounds you . It travels from nostalgic riffs to more agressive ones in a very natural way , It has good melodies and the vocals are very appropriate . High pitch vocals that sound like a creature in pain , in pain but still do not approach , or it might breack your neck ! Overall it is an excellent demo and can't wait to listen to it with a better sound quality . Better intonation and slighty less high frequencies would also inprove the quality of the sound . Black Metal is done with high frequencies but that does not mean that we do not value lows , and mids have their purpose too . In some way Ewig finster sometimes reminds me of some strange mix between Bilskirnir and Nocturnal depression still beeing Ewig Finster . I hope they have the career they deserve and do not start composing too fast like many bands do , feeding the demand and at the same time killing it ! This demo sounds like the opposite , they have taken their time to make and perfect the music , and like i said i hope they at some point re-record it with better sound quality because the music is great . God is Dead
