Band formed in 1987 by Carlos Gerona Izaga (vocals), Tony Monterrubio (guitar ), Steve Saunders (bass), Suli Campos ( guitar and keyboards) and Wily Purdie (drums and percussion). They were assisted by Xavi Puig bass , which came from Ilion group , at the time, one of the founding members of the legendary group Manzano and subsequently Sangtraït showgirl . In Excess predominated as the main melodic hard rock musical style , being a group approaching to the principles of Blue Blood type formations . In 1988 they recorded Justine Records for their first full length eponymous title . This very rare first edition of the album (of which only ten copies were edited ) was rejected by Excess not agree on different aspects of it . Soon apareción a second edition that was distributed in the music market in the usual way . The album was titled 'Princess of Darkness ' with a total of eight songs , all in English : ' If you want to lift ' , ' Steel meet with steel ' , ' Another Day ' , ' Shout to the wind ' , ' Princess of Darkness ' , 'Give me your heart' , ' Do not go away' and 'Still in time' .
