Band,
Electronic and Rock
Fastidju was born when Nigel Baldacchino started conceiving vague sung melodies and hummed structures for existing pieces of writing compiled for the exhibition ‘Sajda’ (St. James Cavalier, January 2012). Thereafter, Nigel started seeking collaborations with electronic producers he admired to provide the flesh to his musical skeletons. Close collaboration with one of these, namely Mario Sammut (a.k.a. Cygna) eventually led to the production of a self-titled album (fully funded by the Malta Arts Fund). Along the way, Nigel then sought the inclusion of other musicians: André Farrugia on bass, Matthew Shields on guitar and vocals, Samuel Xiberras on drums and Robert Farrugia on keys. Together they wrote some of the songs for the album and would later result in the band which Fastidju is currently known as.
