Era sapateiro de profissão. Em 1966 foi o autor da letra e música da "Marcha do Vitória de Setúbal". Nesse alto o Vitória de Setúbal foi à final da Taça com o Sporting de Braga mas acabaria por perder por 1-0. A música seria gravada pelo grupo Terno D'Ouros e mais tarde por Lenita Gentil. Também foi cantada em televisão pelo cantor Toy.
