New York based recording, mixing engineer, producer and writer, born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. Aponte began piano and music theory studies at age 12 and later obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition while taking additional courses in electronic music and recording at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, graduating in 1986. Living in New York since 1990, he was staff engineer at Platinum Island Studios and Axis Studios before becoming a freelance engineer. Over the years he has recorded and worked with notable musicians such as Ryuichi Sakamoto, Jaques Morelenbaum, Paula Morelenbaum, Tito Puente, Arto Lindsay, Salif Keita, George Benson, Marc Ribot, Masters at Work, C+C Music Factory, The Tokyo NHK Orchestra, amongst others.
