Originally from Dryslwyn near Llandeilo, Ffion is one of Wales’ talented young voices who won the David Ellis Memorial Prize, the Blue Riband at the 2015 National Eisteddfod at Montgomeryshire and the Marches. By day, Ffion is an accountant in Swansea, but at an early age she developed her interest as a soloist as a member of the Urdd movement, and having being raised on the family farm at Danycapel, Dryslwyn she became a keen member of the National Federation of Young Farmers. Ffion acknowledges the importance of competing at local Eisteddfodau, where she gained the foundation and experience that enabled her to perform on National and International stages. Ffion began her vocal tuition with the late Maureen Guy before continuing her studies with Miriam Bowen. In addition to classical singing, Ffion has an interest in cerdd dant and folk singing, and would like to acknowledge the influence of, and thank, Nia Clwyd. Furthermore Ffion has always enjoyed choral singing and is thrilled to be able to perform with ‘Côr Llanddarog a’r Cylch’ on this recording, conducted by Meinir Richards.
