Folk
Firefay started in 2007 in West London. Mixing the styles of Jacquel Brel and Francoise Hardy with Robert Wyatt and Fairport convention. Songs are sung in a number of languages including English , French and Spanish. There has been a number of line ups but always with core partnership of husband and wife Carole Bulewski (songwriting and lyrics) and Adam Bulewski (writing music and production). There is a lot of use of violin and piano in the music as well as the occasional foray into avant garde electronica. Although influenced by past artists they try to create a futuristic forward looking folk: dark with a baroque, progressive and urban flavor.
