'Prospecting Versions' offers 4 alternative versions/remixes of the album tracks. Fjell describes his latest effort, ‘Prospecting’, as an ‘ambient’ album - but ‘ambient’ in the historical meaning of the word: The most striking thing about this epic composition is the height of its ambition. With 4 long tracks, there is ample space for a multitude of ideas to come to the surface. Similar to the song structures of ProgRock, it is as if each track has been created to tell its own story. Much of the album de-emphasizes beats, instead concentrating on percolating arpeggios and slowly developing minimalist textures. Drifting soundscapes created artfully by synths, guitar effects and other electronic devices alternating with more traditional bass-driven elements enriched by percussion instruments and even acoustic guitars. Often a voyage into deep space but sometimes as well a bright and sparkling trip. An album full of elegant twinkles and understated sparkle, ‚Prospecting‘ is an invitation to a sweet chill-out session.
