A.k.a. Peter Hope, Charlie Collins
Pete Hope and Charlie Collins first collaborated in the early '80's in the Sheffield band The Box which rose from the ashes of the classic line-up of Clock Dva. The band split in 1985 after recording three critically acclaimed albums. In 1994 Hope & Collins were reunited releasing a few tracks on different compilations. In 1998 they signed to Liquid Records and picked up the dark currents which became the signature of the first Flex 13 album Paint My Legs before starting work on their new baby Candy. Guest musicians on Candy include John Wills (Loop/Hair & Skin Trading Company/Pinkie Maclure), Mark Flunder (Cee Bee Beaumont/Television Personalities/Sportique) and Jono Podmore (a.k.a. Kumo). Techno and hip-hop and other 'dance' genres are full of diverse elements. Rock and Indie is far less adventurous. The occasional sample is considered 'modern' or 'experimental' to use the hip-hop ethic in 'rock' is standing outside the format. Flex 13 don't hold with the formula. Candy is the sweets you need a ladder to reach. Candy is life. Criticism is easy. Action means movement. Movement is life.....
