Rock and Electronic
Fly Pan Am was a Montreal-based rock quintet formed in 1996 with an ear for melody and approach to (de)construction that revealed the twin influences of French pop & krautrock, as well as a forward-looking experimentalism guided by an unshakeable faith in the unfulfilled possibilities of minimalism and musique concrète in punk rock. After four releases of chiming instrumental rock propelled by insistent motorik drumming and interweaving guitar and bass lines that unfold with obstinate rigour on Constellation from 1998–2005, the band went on hiatus in 2006.
