A.k.a. Luis Vera Da Fonseca
Born of a Senegalese mother and a Cape Verdean father, Luis Vera Da Fonseca is one of those forgotten pioneers of Latin music in Africa. Perfectly at home in the Cuban repertoire, Fonseca moved to France in the mid-1950 , then later established himself in Belgium., Accompanied by his orchestra, les Anges Noirs, they play in Brussels in 1960 and with their afro-latin fusion style, Fonseca et ses Anges Noirs succeeded in carving out for themselves a solid reputation in the Benelux and France as one of the most sought after latin stage band.
