Single CA 2012 on Mau5trap Recordings label
Hip-Hop/Rap
Last month UK party starters Foreign Beggars were unveiled as the latest addition to the burgeoning mau5trap label roster. The group, individually known as Orifice Vulgatron, Metropolis and DJ Nonames, have built a revered reputation over the last decade for their versatility, prolific creativity and high octane live shows. Now they open the latest chapter in their evolution with new track Palm Of My Hand, the first tantalizing taster to be taken from their forthcoming album for the label, The Uprising. On Palm Of My Hand, Orifice Vulgatron and Metropolis swap verses over a crushing beat produced by left of centre hip hop producer kidkanevil. The thumping 8-bit production provides the driving force behind the track while remaining sparse enough to give them ample space to showcase their lyrical dexterity at its most potent. Equal parts swagger, braggadocio and humour, the electricity of their interplay coalesces in razor sharp rhymes and an irresistibly catchy hook. Having successfully changed the face of UK hip hop in the last decade, Foreign Beggars more recent output has seen them up the ante with a genre defying blend of upfront sounds and collaborating with some of the most exciting producers around. Their last The Harder They Fall EP on Never Say Die last year saw them working with Alix Perez, Mensah and Skrillex to name just a few. Now as they sign to mau5trap and with their brand new album waiting in the wings, they might just have the whole world in the palm of their hands
