A.k.a. Joyless
Forgotten was originally formed as Mordor in Norway in 1991 by Olav Berland (guitar, drums), and Rune Vedaa (bass), but a few months later the name was changed to Forgotten Woods. Jarle Swahn joined as the new singer, and in 1993 they released two demo cassettes; "Through the Woods" and "Forgotten Woods". Jarle then switched to drums, and Thomas Torkelsen joined as the new singer. "As the Wolves Gather", their debut album, was released in 1994 by No Colours Records. Jarle quit the band, shortly after the debut album was recorded, and Olav once again played both guitar and drums. The EP "Sjel av Natten" was released in 1995. In 1996 they released their second album, "The Curse of Mankind". Shortly after they broke up and Olav Berland and Rune Vedaa went on to form Joyless. But FW once again rose from the ashes, and has been an on and off project mainly overseen by Rune, while Olav oversees the Joyless project. In 2003 a boxset, "Baklengs Mot Stupet", was released. It contained both albums and the EP.
