Frank Gravis played bass in the Hiram Bullock Group and is a top session player in New York City, where he also teaches at the Bass Collective. Frank Gravis is from San Antonio, Texas, and has been living in the New York City area since 1977. He has played and recorded with David Sanborn, Herbie Mann, Hiram Bullock, Rupert Holmes (including the hit "Escape: The Piña Colada Song"), Bill Evans and Soulgrass, Soul Bop with Bill Evans and Randy Brecker, Donna Summer, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Ray Baretto, Suzanne Vega, Zhane, Toninho Horta, Dr. John, Otis Rush, Bo Diddley, Phoebe Snow, Angelo Badalamenti, The Pat McGee Band, and many others. He also played on the first two seasons of "Sex In The City." He recently completed 10 years on the full-time faculty at The Collective School Of Music. Frank is still a busy on-call bassist, and works both as a studio musician and live situations.
