American soul and funk singer/songwriter and producer, born in Arkansas, but moved to Compton, California. Not confused with soul singer Freddie Hughes. Recorded some records for Vee Jay Records, Brunswick and other labels in the 60s. He still lives in Compton but has not been active in music since the 1970s.
