« Les chansons étaient déjà là… Certaines comme des monuments à aborder avec humilité, quelques inédites à classer dans les trouvailles, et d’autres vastitudes qui avaient pris domicile dans ma guitare. Depuis quelques années que je rêve d’un album dépouillé. Comme si on s’assoyait un à côté de l’autre. Ça s’appelle APRÈS, mais on l’a travaillé pour que la fin s’attache au début, pour que ça puisse s’écouter en boucle. On aurait pu l’appeler TOUJOURS. »
