Album US 1962 on Reprise Records label
Spoken Word and Classical (Field Recording, Spoken Word, Modern)
Description on the back: At 0801 Hours, Greenwich Mean Time, Tuesday, 20 February 1962, Lieutenant Colonel John H. Glenn, Jr., United States Marine Corps, stepped from the recovered space capsule Friendship 7 to the deck of the United States ship Noa and into the pages of history. Colonel Glenn was the first American astronaut to orbit the earth, in a controlled flight conducted before the eyes and ears of a waiting world. This is his story, the story of the Friendship 7, and the story of the thousands of men and man-hours which made Project Mercury a bright chapter in our search into "the new sea."
