Fribo were founded in 2002 by Anne Sofie Linge Valdal (vocals, willow flute and bodhran), Ewan MacPherson (guitar, mandola, Jew's harp and cowbells), and Sarah-Jane Summers (fiddle, Hardanger fiddle and vocals). The three musicians combine traditional Norwegian music with the Scottish and English folk music tradition.
