A.k.a. Landan Brawley
Frustra is an experimental house music project that was created in early January 2014 by producer and percussionist Landan Brawley in Ottawa, Ontario. While it was originally a project that was meant to focus on Future Garage and UK House, it eventually developed and grew into a more Chicago and Detroit influenced sound by early 2015. After releasing his first mixtape independently in October 2014, he released his debut EP with Sapphire Records (‘Truth In Fiction’) in February 2015. It’s second single “Break Apart” has amassed over 100,000 plays to date via the label’s SoundCloud page. A second EP (‘Impermanence’) was released this past June on Sapphire as well and has garnered support from the likes of Claude VonStroke and Vanilla Ace. In late 2015 and early 2016, Frustra made live and DJ set appearances opening for the likes of Deko-ze, Jerome Robins and mysterious French producer MALAA. He signed to the Brooklyn, NY based label OKNF Collective as well in December 2015, released his third full-length EP 'Fractures' in early May 2016 and also performed at this year's Pride Toronto festival on July 1st as part of a five date show series in Toronto for the EP.
