Single UK 2018 on Fruits de Mer Records label
Rock (Folk Rock, Prog Rock)
Original Fuchsia demo ("Tony Durant Ensemble") This is where it all started, the original demo recorded at West of England Sound in 1970, copied/rescued from the only remaining acetate recording (hence the surface noise). Slight differences to the album, like french horn in Tiny Book, & different backing vocals here and there. This was what we sent to Kingdom Records which they liked. A lot of time spent arranging & writing, and gathering a group of fantastic people around me. I couldn't read/write music so all parts saved to a single track tape recorder. I wasn't at all sure about putting this out, due to its quality, but have been reassured there are many other releases of the era far worse! And people would be interested. And I remembered only recently, the original intention of Fuchsia was to make it a hybrid band, one part heavier electric material, like part here, and its antithesis, a more gentle string based lyrical side. Our record label at the time encouraged us to pursue the Fuchsia style as everyone knows it today. Tony Durant released by Fruits de Mer Records, August 2018 catalogue number : strange fish thirteen limited to 100 copies
