Band, 1989-1995 GB, Nottingham
Alternative and Rock
A.k.a. Adrian Parkin, Alex Newport, Dave Ryley The Sphincter Triplets
Fudge Tunnel were formed in Nottingham, UK, in 1988. The original line up consisted of Alex Newport (guitar/vocals), Adrian Parkin (drums), David Ryley (bass). After making two ep's for Pigboy (Vinyl Solution), the band signed with Earache Records. Their debut album "Hate Songs in E Minor" attracted press interest after the original album artwork was confiscated by Nottingham Vice Squad. Fudge Tunnel's reputation was built around their massive guitar sound and ironic sense of humor, which didn't always endear them to the music press. After they released their third album "The Complicated Futility Of Ignorance" they decided there was nothing more to be said and the band ceased to exist.
