A.k.a. Hamish Mackintosh The Wave Room

Scottish band with strong connections to quintessential ethereal band Cocteau Twins. Formed by Hamish Mackintosh in 1987 and produced by Cocteau Twins guitarist Robin Guthrie, the first album, “The Back Of This Beyond,” was released in 1988 on Nightshift Records. Undeterred, Hamish produced a second album which was due to be released but the collapse of the record label meant this was postponed. Their first 12" EP "Songs In The Key Of E" was released on Midnight Music in 1991. In 1994, the EP “Timeless” was released with major contributions from Cocteau Twins, including the vocal talents of Elizabeth Fraser on the song “Butterfly Knife”, and Robin Guthrie’s inimitable sound on the astounding shoegazer should-be classic “Wildfire”. In April 2013, Hamish put the unreleased 1991 debut album, "Five Divinity Avenue", on Bandcamp.
