The best rap group Denmark ever will see, period. Funk Flush goes back, way back, to a time when rap was an art and you had to have crazy skills to get on the mic. As a group, Funk Flush began in 1991 with rappers Tjes Boogie, Knox and Creative and DJ’s Noize and K, and already in 1994, they won the prestigious Danish Hip Hop award “Rap group Of The Year”. At the same night of the victory, they signed a contract with Solid Productions, who at that time had two American majors wanting to sign Funk Flush. Due to a fall out over the management contract with Solid Production, they never got to the states, and the disappointment lead to the members to try to pursue their own solo careers. So what did the members do after they broke up? Creative released an EP in Denmark, three 12 inches in the states and Europe and did songs with American artists like Freestyle and MHz. He also had a song on the critically acclaimed soundtrack “Pizza King” and also joined Outlandish on their first album and national tour. Knox did work with Den Gale Pose, and appeared on the Grammy winning album “Sådan Er Reglerne”. He also joined on “Definitionen Af En Stodder” and popped on the radio hit “Nothing Comes From Nothing” with Camille Jones. Tjes Boogie started working with Scandinavian superstars like Petter and Tommy T, but the highlight of his career came when his solo album “Hellborn” hit the streets. On “Hellborn”, you could also listen to two brand new Funk Flush tracks that had everybody flipping. After this, the three members decided to get back together and do the long awaited Funk Flush album. In October 2001, the debut album “Barfly Legends” finally hit the streets. Guest stars included Burhan G, Outlandish, Majid, Maria and Shirley, and is still viewed as one of the best albums in the history of Danish Hip Hop. Funk Flush had three hits on national radio, but unfortunately, the album didn’t sell as much as expected. Once again, the members decided it was time to take a break, but with Funk Flush you never know if its all over, or if a new album is on its way in the future...
