Just Play Records was set up in 2003 by DJ Asif and MRT. Their record label has released four albums for Fusing Naked Beats so far, the hit 2005 'Digital Asia' , 2006 'Outerperspective', 2007 'Witness of the World' & 2008 the hit album ‘Zenith’ Fusing Naked Beats, have a unique versatile style which is slowly evolving the contemporary Asian scene into an altogether more urban, edgy soundscape with a new direction. DJ Asif who founded Fusing Naked Beats expresses a variety of different types of musical styles. His musical career evolved from traditional Asian music and its rhythms to playing in a punk band and moving on to experiment with hip-hop and electronic music. His sound is crafted by exploring Eastern and Western cultures alike, creating limitless musical possibilities and new exciting sounds. Urbanized from the Asian Underground scene, DJ Asif is the latest spin-master and producer to join the ranks of the universal dance world. Together with his project Fusing Naked Beats, Asif blends Arabic rhythms and Eastern vibes with his background in hip- hop and deep beats transporting his sound all over Europe and Asia. Also renowned as being an accomplished guitarist and songwriter, Asif's main strength lies in music production and he gained a BA in Commercial Music in 2004. As part of Fusing Naked Beats, Asif and MRT have produced tracks for General Levy, HardKaur, Shahin Badar, Mic Assassin, Kat Neocleous, Najma Akhtar to name a few. Fusing Naked Beats release ‘Digital Asia’ (Just Play Records, 2005) was number 1 on Radio One's Bobby Friction and Nihal's top ten tracks of 2005. To date, no less than 15 tracks from all FNB albums have been playlisted on various radio stations in the UK and Europe. Fusing Naked Beats have previously supported acts such as Leftfield,Talvin Singh, Nitin Sawhney and Asian Dub Foundation, and have performed in no less than ten countries across Europe. Asif has also scored and contributed music to a number of short films including Another Day, Alma Mater and Taqwa. Asif has been involved in various film sessions including the British movie Bollywood Queen. Fusing Naked Beats have also contributed to many album compilations worldwide including 'Asian Garden Vol.1 and Vol. 2',' Oriental Garden 3', 'Cafe Solarie 9', ‘Silk Pearls, ‘Beginners Guide To Bhangra’ and many more. DJ Asif also compiled his very own compilation ‘Bar India’ in 2008 for the Nascente label in the UK which was distributed nationwide in all major retail stores and proved to be a huge success.The compilation Bar India presented a stylish and danceable compilation forging heavyweight dance floor gems with widescreen downtempo beats all influenced by shared musical inspirations between electronica music, Asian cultures and global beats. Expect Bar India to leave a mark in your soul. Fusing Naked Beats were nominated in 2008 for ‘The Best Asian Underground act 2008’ for the UK Asian Music Awards. Fusing Naked Beats have been nominated for a second time for "BEST ALTERNATIVE ACT" at the UK AMA'S which will be held on Thursday March 5th 2009 at the royal festival hall. With a succession of singles and albums under his belt and a distinctive trademark sound, DJ Asif is continually looking for challenges and ways to expand and make his creative mark in the music industry. The fusing of their styles has created a unique sound that includes influences from a wide spectrum of musical tastes. His collaboration into the Fusing Naked Beats collective has been his most successful musical venture yet and he truly believes that the journey is just beginning for the dynamic duo!
