Born 13 February 1931, is a Swiss-Swedish flutist. Schaub studied for Aurèle Nicolet, André Jaunet and Gaston Crunelle. He completed his studies at the Conservatoire de Paris in 1953, and in 1957 he came to the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra after employment at Dresden's Philharmonic Orchestra, Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig and Mozarteum's Orchestra in Salzburg. He stayed In the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra until he retired. He also played chamber music in the ensemble Ars Intima from the 1970s to the 1990s. He has been a flute teacher at Musikhögskolan i Göteborg (the Academy of Music in Gothenburg) and got the professor's title in 1983. He was elected as a member of the Royal Academy of Music in 1995.
