The band Gdzie Cikwiaty was formed in spring 1991 in Koszalin, on the initiative of the vocalist, guitarist, composer and author of texts Jacek Barzycki. It initially gave concerts in small local clubs, but soon began appearing at nationwide festivals such as FMR Jarocin '91 and '93, Marlboro Rock In '93, Antena Polska Le Printemps de Bourges, Departures '95, Sopot Rock Festival. It also appeared several times in Germany during the Waldheim Open Air '92, '93 and '94 and Rock Stade festivals in Neubrandenburg. The real breakthrough in the activities of Gdzie Cikwiaty was the victory in the Marlboro Rock In '94 competition and the defeat of nearly 700 teams from all over Poland in four stages. And the reward associated with it - a record contract funded by the PolyGram Polska label and a concert tour alongside Proletaryatu. Works from the debut album, which appeared in 1995, such as "Ciała Astralne", "Lewituję", "Błazen - wyciskacz łez", "Pragnę właśnie jej", appeared on the radio and the band began intensive concert activity winning fans' sympathy in Poland and the opinion of a very good concert band. During 10 years of activity, the band played nearly 300 concerts, on one stage, among others. from: The Mission, Paradise Lost, Vader, Cult, Hey, Illusion, Golden Life, Myslovitz, Varius Manx, Edith Bartosiewicz, Kasia Kowalska, Big Day, Sweet Noise, Variete, Moonlight. In May 1998, in the studio of RED Piotr Łukaszewski, the band made their second album "Blisko", which music producer was Tomasz Bonarowski. The album was released by Koch International Poland at the beginning of 1999 and was preceded by a single and a music video entitled "Blisko nam do siebie". The song was hosted on many charts - the longest, 40 weeks in Polish radio 3ZZZ in Melbourne, Australia, where in April and May '99 it was in first place. In July 1999, the band of Gdzie Cikwiaty performed at the Arezzo Wave Festival in Italy playing in one concert before the legendary bands Deus from Belgium and The Residents from the USA. On the occasion of the 10th birthday Gdzie Cikwiaty released in a limited jubilee edition a CD titled '10th' with unpublished songs and unknown versions of songs "Blisko nam do siebie" and "Kulmen". The producer of the record is Jacek Barzycki.
