Gaetano Giani Luporini (b. 1936) is an Italian composer and music educator, painter, poet, grandson of the famous composer Gaetano Luporini (1865–1948). He began studying violin in Lucca and later enrolled at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence, graduating in composition under the guidance of Roberto Lupi. For thirty years Gaetano Giani Luporini had a successful career both in music and fine arts. Eventually, he devoted himself to composing and teaching harmony and counterpoint at the Florence Conservatory. Luporini also directed Istituto Musicale Luigi Boccherini from 1986 to 2003.
