Gang's Back is a six member group that was formed in Fresno, California in 1976. Members of the group are Fresno Cruz - vocals and sax, Rick Gonzalez - guitar, Robert Ramirez - drums, Richard Cruz - keyboards and trumpet, Arturo Aldana - bass and Joe Cruz - trombone. The group combined R&B, Funk Jazz, Latin & pop flavor in their music, worked on creating their own unique flavor on the West Coast club circuit. By 1980 they were appearing with headliners like Tower Of Power, Jose Whatley, Shalamar, War, G.Q., Tierra & many others. Gang's Back was signed to Handshake Records, a subsidiary of Columbia in 1981. Their self-titled debut LP was produced by Barney Perkins, who worked with the Supremes & The Temptations and co-produced by Tony Coleman, who wrote songs for Quincy Jones and James Ingrams.
