60's soul group Formed in 1961, Philadelphia, by two members of the disbanded The Gainors, Garnet Mimms and Sam Bell (3) plus Zola Pearnell and Charles Boyer. They relocated in New York and started working with Bert Berns and Jerry Ragovoy. In 1964, Mimms left the group for a solo career and Bell took his place as a leader and with the addition of William Gilmore, they evolved to The Enchanters (5)
