Born in Jersey (Channel Islands) in 1964, Gary started playing trumpet at the age of 6. He began playing professionally in local bands from the age of 15. Since then his musical passions have broadened and matured, producing a trumpet soloist with a fine combination of fluidity, emotion and harmonic ideas. His main influences are Clifford Brown and Kenny Dorham. Gary studied with Ack Van Rooijen, Frans Elsen and John Rocco at the Dutch Royal Conservatory. He now continues his studies with Barry Harris. During his twelve years in the Netherlands he has gigged throughout Europe
