As a fan of bluegrass and old-time music since 1973, Gary Reid has been involved in many aspects of the music business. First, as the original bass player for the Johnson Mountain Boys, and later as a researcher, record company/publishing firm founder. His Copper Creek Records was organized in 1978 and specializes in the issuance of classic bluegrass. As a writer/producer, he has compiled notes for numerous CDs and boxed set re-issues.
