Genji Siraisi is a composer, producer, musician and founding member of the Grammy nominated New York City band Groove Collective. He has produced records for Warner Bros, Impulse, Giant Step, GRP, London/Payday, Savoy, Eightball, Pony Canyon, Shanachie, Moonshine, Expansion Team, and Kufala. His work in the studio includes credits with Masters At Work, Naked Music, Bob Power, Gary Katz, Bob Brockman, Itaal Shur, DJ Spinna, Danny Taneglia, Rick Derringer, Chucho Valdez and Digital Underground. Genji has played drums live with Tupac Shakur - for MTV live Jams (winning MTV’s best live rap performance), Ultra Nate, Lisa Shaw, Jody Whatley, Carleen Anderson, Fred Wesley, Bernie Worrell, Sugar Hill Gang, Vernon Reid, Branford Marsalis, Pharoah Sanders, Ramsey Lewis, Adam Rogers, Ultra Nate, Donnie, Shock G, Mellie Mel, Money B, Digable Planets, Pharcyde, Natalie Merchant, Ravi Coltrane, Wide Spread Panic, Mark Ribot, Topaz, Julian Velard, Kenny Mohammad, Nicodemus & Turntables On the Hudson, Don Cherry, Wah Wah Watson, Carlos "Patato" Valdez, Josh Redman, Lucy Woodward, Rahzel, and Duncan Sheik among many other great artists and was the house drummer for the famed Giant Step weekly parties. Beyond his solo work and Groove Collective releases, Genji Siraisi's original compositions have been used in the documentaries and films: Electric Signs, Liberia: An Uncivil War, Brutal, World's Best Prom, The Big Race, To Be Seen, Little Black Dress, and Side Tracks. His music has also been used by American Express, Ovation, Biography, McDonalds, ATT, Tylenol, Pepsi, Boeing, Captain Morgans, TBS, Comedy Central, Time Warner, and Champs among others.
