Gentle Giant were a British progressive rock band. Textually inspired by philosophy, personal events and the works of François Rabelais, the group's early compositional purpose was to "expand the frontiers of contemporary popular music at the risk of becoming very unpopular." NB Three Friends (1972) was the band's third album release. Octopus (1972) was the band's fourth album release.
