Album DE 2012 on Mind Field Records label
Electronic (Abstract, Experimental, Ambient)
Here is something special from a true Electronic music Pioneer... Perhaps not as well-known as the greats like Moog and Buchla, but he's had the pleasure of getting to know them. This release is the first of a series featuring Geoffrey d'Ombrains Electronic Music works from 1978-1991, which are being remastered and introduced to the digital world by Mind Field Records. Geoffrey's son 'Nicholas D' is the proud man behind the label and also has a fascination with the wonderful Roland System 700, on which the Electronic portion of this EP was entirely produced. Improvised flute parts, bird whistles and descant recorder can be heard over the top of these inspiring, deep and rich sounds, and Geoffrey is, of course, also responsible for these very fitting and creative elements. The works were composed for a well-known Australian artist - William James (Bill) Ferguson to accompany his "The importance of Ochre" exhibition in 1991. All originally recorded to tape, these works have been remastered by Zeitgeist Mastering. A wonderful conglomeration of powerful analogue sounds, spirits and emotions.
