Album AT 2013 on Preiser Records label
Classical (Romantic)
In autumn 2012 Preiser Records asked Georg Breinschmid, to do a recording in the newly renovated legendary studio at Casino Baumgarten, Vienna. He suggested to do this recording with his ensemble „Wer ist Ivica Strauss…?“ (Breinschmid, bass, voice; Sebastian Gürtler, violin, voice; Tommaso Huber, accordion, voice. The first recording session had to be cancelled because of Hurricane Sandy: She kept Sebastian Gürtler stranded in New York. It took us months before we could arrange a new recording session. End of May 2013 the musicians finally managed to gather in Casino Baumgarten to do the recording. Due to the vintage recording style we decided to use the tracks as complete as possible, with no edits. They also accepted wrong and bumpy notes due to the spirit of the project and the special recording circumstances. The music they played is the one composed by Johann Strauss`s unknown relative Ivica.
