Northern german poet and writer. He worked for the kingdom of Denmark as member of the financial administration and did poetry and historical writing on the side. His poem „Der Wanderer“ was set to music by Franz Schubert. Born January 1, 1766 in Lübeck, Germany. Died October 8, 1849 in Ottensen, Germany
