Georg Scherer

German writer, compiler and publisher of folk songs, born 16 March 1824 in Dennenlohe (now Unterschwaningen), died 20 September 1909 in Eglfing. He is particularly known for writing the lyrics of the second verse of Brahms' Lullaby (Wiegenlied "Guten Abend, gute Nacht" - "Good evening, good night", Op. 49, No. 4).
