This is the first LP pressing on first iteration Columbia LP labels. This label style only ran 1948-49. Initial release is in "column" cover with back flap. Repress versions were released on next label variation and housed in either red Rhapsody In Blue / An American In Paris, yellow Rhapsody In Blue / An American In Paris or green Rhapsody In Blue / An American In Paris "column" covers without flap. Reissued in 1950 Rhapsody In Blue / An American In Paris with illustrated cover that "borrowed" cover artwork by Alex Steinweiss from the earlier 12" 78 RPM albums, Rhapsody In Blue and An American In Paris.
