George Jackson (8) was born on May 16, 1920 in Alligator, Mississippi. He grew up on a cotton plantation near Dundee, Mississippi and sang in churches. He developed his slide guitar style as a teenager. He played concerts in much of the U.S. and did a concert tour of Europe. He later moved to Kansas City, Missouri and released a Southern Gospel album Old Time Spirituals with his wife Dorothy Jackson.
