Singer of Jazz
A.k.a. Alan George Heywood Melly
Born : August 17, 1926 in Liverpool, England. Died : July 05, 2007 in London, England. A true English eccentric. Jazz & blues singer, a prolific drinker & socialiser (not half!), writer & film critic, one-time anarchist, follower of the Surrealist movement, and in latter years, simply a lover of fishing; all things the public may perceive of the man. Bisexual by nature, however (openly) married twice and engaged in a straight lifestyle after his twenties-thirties flamboyancy; again the association between the norm and surrealism in his sexuality, like many things, was something George found attractive in his life. Many things could, and should, be said about the man everyone seemed to love, but nothing explained would quite sum-up a man who basically loved life.
