Born on July 5, 1914 in St. Petersburg, Russia. George de Godzinsky was born in Russia, but during the Russian revolution his family escaped to Finland and settled down in Helsinki. He was a composer, conductor and pianist. He composed operettas, ballets, musicals, orchestral works and music for Finnish films, and a lot more. Though he is most known for his schlager music. Died on May 23, 1994 in Espoo, Finland.
