Clarinet player. Gerald Pachinger was born in Ried (Upper Austria) 1967. From 1984 to 1987 he studied with Peter Schmidl at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Gerald Pachinger is a founding member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra under Claudio Abbado and since October 1987 solo clarinetist with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.
