A.k.a. Ernie & The Emperors
After Ernie & The Emperors dissolved due to military service, the Orosco brothers and the Fricia brothers joined forces to become the Giant Crab. They released a string of singles and two LPs in quick succession, quickly gaining a reputation as a hard rocking band. Where the Emperors were best known for their live stage shows, the Giant Crab were known for their records. In 1969, Ernie, Cory, and Brian teamed up with Steve Dunwoodie to tour the southeastern United States as Big Brother Ernie Joseph, a significantly heavier-sounding band. The Giant Crab still has a huge cult following, their albums fetching large sums of money by avid collectors.
