Gil Dor (born December 12, 1952) is an Israeli guitarist, songwriter and arranger. He studied classical guitar with Menashe Bakish and, following the completion of his military service in 1974 he moved to the United States where he studied music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and Queens College in New York. He returned to Israel in 1980. Dor is one of the founders of the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in 1985 were he served as Dean of Curricula. Originally known as a jazz guitarist, he toured with Al Dimeola in 1986-87. He is best know for his collaborations with Achinoam Nini (a/k/a Noa), originally one of his students at Rimon. They have composed and performed together since 1990. Gil Dor is the brother of Yuval Dor, best known as a singer in the group Hakol Over "Habibi".
