Gilles Racot (1951, Pavillon-sous-Bois, France) is a composer and a visual artist. Full time composer since 1978, he studied composition at Conservatoire national supérieur de musique in Paris, before joining the Groupe de recherches musicales (GRM) as a free collaborator on an irregular basis. he's been co-producer for France-Musique's radio show L'oreille en colimaçon between 1982-86. He joined the Analyse/Synthèse team at IRCAM in 1998, but he's been closely associated with the Institut since 1985.
